Be careful, cellphone addicts! An Italian man got a brain tumor due to improper use of the cellphone
A court in Ivrea, Italy recently ruled that a telecom enterprise should compensate one of its supervisors because during the working period, the excessive use of the mobile phone caused a brain tumor in his head.
The plaintiff, Roberto Romeo aged 57, complained that the nature of the work forced him to frequently use the mobile phone. In 15 working years, it took 3 to 4 hours for him to use the cellphone each day.
The judge ruled that the Italian national occupational injury insurance project INAIL should compensate Romeo 500 euros (3691 yuan) each month.
Romeo's lawyer said in a statement: "It is the first time in the world to recognize a cause-and-effect relationship between the use of cellphones and brain tumors."
